
The interprofessional education strategic goals support the vision of the Quadruple Aim to improve patient health care, to improve population health in Arkansas, to reduce cost of health care, and improve provider satisfaction in Arkansas. The four objectives of the Quadruple Aim are: Improving the patient and caregiver experience Improving the health of populations Reducing the per capita. The IHI and other groups have recommended expanding Triple Aim to a Quadruple Aim, adding the goal of improving the work life of health care providers.

The Triple Aim framework prescribes improved quality, reduced costs and enhanced patient. Current and future leaders will need to constantly innovate in order to sustain this industry into the future- by.

In 2007, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement developed the Triple Aim as a set of goals to guide this transition. Given the fact that Healthcare is one of the largest industries in the U.S. To contribute to UAMS’ success in reaching the Quadruple Aim the Office of Interprofessional Education has developed a strategic goal framework that supports a horizontal organizational structure that bridges across UAMS’ six- health professions (colleges), clinical delivery system and our research enterprise. The transition from an environment that rewards volume to one that requires value is a massive shift for the industry. Since the Triple Aim does not explicitly acknowledge the critical role of the workforce in health care transformation, the Quadruple Aim was ushered in with its goal of improving the work life of health care providers, including clinicians and staff.

The change won’t happen overnight, nor will improving the health system performance. What & Why – Interprofessional Education (IPE) The Quadruple Aim is similar to a compass in that it guides the direction that the health system including both patients and providers needs to go in.
